Several professions are dedicated to the service of others and promoting the welfare of people and their communities.  The costs and benefits of these chosen professions are often unseen to the general public, including the people receiving the service.  Professionals with licenses, certifications and those that require discretion when dealing with problems of everyday living that could adversely impact their professional status are often hesitant to seek counseling services. Professions such as medical, legal,  law enforcement and fire service personnel are exposed to multiple demands, re-occurring trauma, and constant public scrutiny.  The amount of stress involved in these dedicated professions frequently create high levels of distress for the professional, which left untreated can interfere with job performance and personal life satisfaction.  Impaired Professional Solutions (IPS) utilizes the tenets of clinical psychology to address the needs of this unique population.  Clinical psychology is the study of human behavior and the understanding of the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviors.  My approach to therapy is to provide confidential services in a safe, non-judgmental and motivational environment, in order to help individuals adjust to the demands of life and to deal with times of crisis. There is a flexible schedule and discreet setting used to meet the needs of clients.
